Debbie Harry IS fashion.

Warhol TV, being featured in Paris, France, had a tribute to the icon that is Deborah Harry. I think the most interesting part about hearing her monologues was her non-fashion up-rise from a small town in New Jersey. She claims to have no stake in the world of fashion, yet she is so the 80's version of our very own Lady Gaga. Loves it. Wants to be her friend. Wait, have partied with her at barracuda in NYC. Wait, can every tuesday night. HA! xoxo

Warhol Exhibit in Paris

Ok, so as a native, and somtimes bashfully-admittant Pittsburger...imagine my surprise to find one of the most prominent and influencial artists to derive from my part of town being showcased in one of the newest galleries in Paris. Definitely not down-sizing his stardom by comparison, but Andy Warhol is my pride and joy and only claim to fame(besides the Fallingwater exhibit by Frank Lloyd Wright) so give me a minute to revel. La Maison Rouge in Paris is currently featuring Warhol TV; an exhibit to tribute the late and great artist/socialite/pop-culture queen and voice of blurred sanity himself. I especially loved and had great inspiration derive from the Jerry Hall interviews..so eloquent, yet so edge. Deborah Harry, Yoko Ono...to name a few..were definitely highlights in the videos that I got caught taping by security. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere...get to Paris!

Madness Behind the Manes

I had the recent experience backstage during fashion week to assist with the stylists configuring of Fall fashion's latest looks. Many designers went with "character" looks, giving each model and uniformly their attire, it's own unique look. At the Milly show, these stylists went with an asymetric ponytail and head-bandeau that were oh-so perfectly up-swept but slightly tousled at the tail. Mainly at home in the dresser's quarters as I am a designer, the insanity in an area with which I am not versed left me speechless and like roadkill..but nonetheless with great respect for the perfection of their craft. Bringing 80's Back

It seems that the decade which we tried to forget for it's fashion mishaps is rearing it's lovely head again amongst the global designers' think bubbles. Runways for A/W 09-10 were brimming with nods to our 80's past and the fresh take on a modern twist of edginess gave this dismissed time period a second chance for fashion acceptance. Designers that participated in the generation-Madonna birth were Marc Jacobs with his highly exaggerated shoulder volume and Alexander Wang with his glossy reptilian biker shorts. Let us not forget about the illustrious Mc Hammer pant, which were modified to magnificence in the collection by Catherine Holstein. You can't touch this.
